21 Aug The *Perfect* Chocolate Chip Cookie
I saw this recipe on Pinterest a few months ago for Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect chocolate chip cookie and this seemed to have potential. I’ve attempted to make chocolate chip cookies in the past and I’m always disappointed with how they turn out. They are never thick enough, they spread out like melting blobs in the oven, and they are always overly cooked. I realize a lot of this has to do with user error but I’m going to blame it on science.
Luckily for me, someone else figured out the science behind the perfect cookie. Her blog details the reasoning behind the ingredients she used and why it works. It’s pretty amazing and truly a labor of love. After reading every detail of the recipe, I made the trek to the grocery store, and attempted to make the perfect chocolate chip cookie.
The cookies were awesome! They were chewy in that perfectly underdone way. They were thick and melty and delicious. Thank you Stacy for restoring some hope in the future of my baking abilities. I’ve since taken them to several parties and they’ve been met with rave reviews.
JB and I went up to visit family in Minnesota and thought it would be a fun idea to bake these cookies with my niece Aasta. I’ve never baked with a 3 year old but figured it would be fun to try!
Aasta was a great helper and the cookies were yummy as always! My favorite moment was when she asked me if she could try the brown sugar, proceeded to take a giant spoon of it, ask “Is this too much?” and stuff it in her mouth. Love that “trying” in a 3 year old’s mind means shoving as much as you can before your aunt stops you. Love this girl!
