11 Apr Favorite Fabric Friday-Anna Maria Horner
My mom and I are headed to Tennessee this weekend for SewDown Nashville. This is an event held by the Modern Quilt Guild and is a weekend full of sewing. My mom and I feel like our quilting skills probably aren’t up to par, especially considering the company that will be there, but we are hoping to blend in and learn a lot over the next few days.
The workshops are being taught by some of the household names, celebrities if you will, of the quilting world: Anna Maria Horner, Carolyn Friedlander, Angela Walters, and Victoria Findlay Wolfe. For those of you that don’t know them, I can summarize it by saying these ladies are kind of a big deal!
One of the most exciting things they are offering this weekend is a trip to Anna Maria’s home for cocktails on Friday night. This is where she makes the magic happen and also where she raises her 7 kids, ranging in age from 22 to 7 months. I’m not sure how she manages it all and I can’t wait to see her creative space. In honor of that, this week’s Favorite Fabric Friday features all prints by Anna Maria herself. She has a new line coming out in May called Pretty Potent and I’m hoping we get a sneak peak this weekend.
I’m sure we will have many stories upon returning. Hopefully we won’t get into too much trouble down there.
Have a wonderful weekend!
