Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City

I made it to Salt Lake City tonight for the Sewing Summit! The flight was relatively uneventful, despite a delay, and I was greeted on the decent by a sunset on one side of the plane and the  moon over the water on the other.  Well done Utah!

I spent most of the 3 1/2 hour flight sleeping, but opened up Real Simple Magazine before landing and found this gem:

“I always knew that deep down in every human heart, there is mercy and generosity.  No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion.  People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than it’s opposite.”

Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom

Despite all of the terrible, heartbreaking, news stories that weigh heavy on our hearts, it’s nice to be reminded of all of the good that still exists and can exist.

Thank you Mr. Mandela for choosing love despite all of the hate that was shown to you and for teaching us what really matters in this short life we live.

So, I totally was reading the same Real Simple magazine and saw the same quote on the flight to SLC! It’s such a good one!
